What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second major cannabinoid found in cannabis plants like hemp and marijuana. Unlike the other major cannabinoid THC, CBD is non-psychoactive. It’s now a potential breakthrough therapeutic aid and nutritional component. Unlike the other cannabinoids, CBD occurs in significant amounts in cannabis. Therefore, its extraction from cannabis plants is relatively easy.
Why is our CBD top of the line?
We care about our customers as much as we care about our plants- and trust us- that’s big! We cultivate our soil and care for our plants as if they were our babies. They are the source that we have built our company on, and the magic that help us bring our customers relief. We go the extra mile in every way we can to care for our plants in every way, and once we harvest, we then process them and extract our hemp extract with the most gentle process to produce the best oil. We make the best product because we use a gentle and slow process, where large hemp plants are cradled like a baby in organic ethanol (corn-based) until all the nutritional benefits are vaporized and captured for further processing. No harsh chemicals, critical pressure, squeezing, ripping, or shredding which causes you to loose essential terpenes, flavonoids, cannabinoids, and create a low quality, poor tasting oil.
Where in the USA is our industrial hemp sourced from?
We primarily source our hemp organically from South Carolina and Colorado.
What part of the plant do you use for your products?
Flowers, which are gently converted into cannabinoid-rich and full spectrum oils using our unique extraction process. We don’t extract our premium hemp from the pulp, stalk or seeds where cannabinoid presence is low.
What is the right dosage of CBD?
Unfortunately, there is no one size fits all answer. An effective dosage can range from as little as a 5mg of CBD per day up to 150mg per day. Research is underway to determine how much CBD the body needs to get the most beneficial effect. It’s turning out to be different for everyone depending on his or her make-up, the issue being treated, and their chosen method of intake. Finding your “sweet spot” can be achieved by starting with a lower dosage and slowly moving upwards according to how you feel. Generally, 25mg to 50mg per day of quality CBD helps manage most conditions.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana (cannabis) ?
Marijuana is the variety of cannabis sativa that has been bred specifically for its medical or psychoactive effects. Hemp is basically cannabis sativa plant strains which contain very low levels of THC and are typically used for its fiber and seeds, it will not get you “high”.
What does broad spectrum CBD mean?
There is some misinformation going around that “broad spectrum” means some cannabinoids but no THC and “full spectrum” means includes THC. This is NOT ACCURATE. Scientifically speaking, Broad spectrum CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plant with all of the other compounds present in the plant remaining. This means it is a CBD product which contains additional cannabinoids (including THC), terpenes, and flavonoids. The term full spectrum actually implies you have every single cannabinoid found in hemp in your product, which is usually a false statement.
What is in my CBD extract besides just CBD?
Our hemp extracts contain up to 80 different phyto-cannabinoids. In addition to the cannabinoids naturally present in our agricultural hemp extracts, there are also many other types of natural molecules and phyto-chemical compounds such as amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins (including B1, B2, B6, D), fatty acids (including omega 3 & 6), trace minerals (including iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium), beta-carotene, chlorophyll, flavanoids, ketones, nitrogenous compounds, alkanes, glycosides, pigments, water, and terpenes. The most common terpenes in our hemp extracts are Myrcene, Beta-caryophyllene, Terpinolene, Linalool, alpha-Pinene, beta-Pinene, Nerolidol og Phytol, trans-alpha-Bergamotene, Limonene/ beta-Phellandrene (Co-elution), and alpha-Humulene.
What are terpenes?
Terpenes are essential oils found in plants. There are around 200 terpenes in cannabis. They are what give cannabis its distinct aroma and flavor. Cannabis (marijuana) has naturally high levels of terpenes. Terpenes have beneficial effects and work synergistically with cannabinoids like CBD and THC, this is known as the entourage effect.
